Mental Health First Aid:

Mental Health First Aid is the help that is offered to a person who is experiencing mental health problems or a mental health crisis. It is the help that is offered until the crisis resolves or until the person is in the hands of qualified professionals.

It is not about diagnosing or treating, but about having a conversation when concerned or offering assistance in a crisis. 


What does the training cover?

  • This training covers common mental health problems: Anxiety, depression, psychosis and substance use

  • It also covers associated crises: Panic attacks, suicide, psychotic episodes, severe intoxication and aggression

  • There are many statistics, helpful resources, and activities that are introduced

  • A framework is shared as the foundation for having a Mental Health First Aid conversation

 

How is this training delivered? 

This training can be delivered in several ways:

  • The in-person, standard course: 12 hours across 2 days

  • The online blended workplace or community course: 5-7 hours of self-paced participant e-learning followed by 2 x 2.5 hour online Instructor sessions

  • The blended face to face: 5-7 hours of self-paced participant e-learning followed by a 4 hour in person Instructor session

What is the Workplace Recognition Program?

Mental Health First Aid Australia offer a Workplace Recognition Program to recognise the achievements of employers for their efforts in implementing Mental Health First Aid. 

There is no cost to submit your application for recognition.

Rebecca began her career in Recruitment and spent over 20 years in the corporate world with many years working as part of People & Culture teams. She worked as a leader for many of those years and has an in-depth understanding of the unique challenges that workplaces face. Rebecca brings curiosity, knowledge, awareness and compassion to all training, ensuring that learning is easy to understand and relevant.

Rebecca runs her own business delivering training to workplaces in a range of areas including Mental
Mental Health First Aid. She is a trusted partner to many organisations as they roll out Mental Health First Aid training as part of their journey to becoming more mentally healthy workplaces. Mental Health First Aid is developed by Mental Health First Aid Australia and is evidence based. Rebecca is able to deliver this training as a Licensed Instructor.
